Terry Gene Lampert

Bluefield, WV – Terry Gene Lampert 74 of Bluefield, WV died Monday December 22, 2025 at his home surrounded with love. Born October 4, 1951 in Bluefield, WV he was a son of the late Eugene M. Lampert and Pauline Lawrence Lampert. Terry was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and retired from Norfolk Southern Railway as an engineer with 41 years of service. Terry was a 1969 graduate of Graham High School, a music lover and played several instruments. He was very active in Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as Lector, Eucharistic Minister, O.C.I.A. team member and a celebrator of St. Nicholas. Terry had a heart every bit as big as he was, and it showed in all that he did for this community. He was Bluefield’s (Christmas City) Santa Clause as well as the numerous family visits that he made so personal. He was past president of the Bluefield Virginia Lions Club, was a very frequent nursing visitor who brought cheer to others, a member of the Bluefield soup group and enjoyed the protest dinner group. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Claire Turner Lampert of Bluefield, WV: children Elizabeth Grey Lampert of Greensboro, NC and Zachary Evan Lampert (Alissa) of Elkton, MD: Step Daughters Tiffany Lee Jones (Doug) of Bluefield, WV, Tonya Louise Beckett (Keith) of Bastian, VA and Raegan Nichole Kotsko (Jude) of Virginia Beach, VA: a brother Gary Lampert (Debbie) of Maryville, TN: grandchildren Turner Jones, Maggie Jones, Zoe Kotsko, Dominic Kotsko, Paxton Lampert, Rory Lampert and Reilly Lampert as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday December 27, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11:00 am with Fr. Joseph Mandokkara as Celebrant. Interment in the White Family Cemetery Charlotte Courthouse, VA will be at a later date. The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home Friday December 26, 2025 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 6:30 pm.
