French "Jigger" Morgan

French “Jigger” Morgan passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home on the morning of August 4, 2025, in Princeton, WV. Born May 11, 1938, French lived the first 82 years of life on his family’s farm in Hanover, located in Wyoming County, WV. He was a 1956 graduate of Baileysville High School. For 42 years, French was a dedicated employee for Columbia Gas Transmission while simultaneously working both of his family’s farms: Hanover and Lerona, WV. Upon retiring from Columbia Gas he continued with his main love, his cows, or his girls as he liked to call them, for another 20 plus years. French was the son of the late Elmer and Sissie Cline Morgan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jackie Fines Morgan, son French Delane Morgan, granddaughters Heather Dawn Morgan and Jaclyn Nicole Morgan, and grandson Andreau Chapman Morgan. He is also preceded in death by Rue Cline Morgan, his second wife; brother and sister-in-law Dr. Paul J. Morgan and Betty Jean Hatfield Morgan, and nephew Dr. David L. Morgan. He is survived by his daughter, Beth K. Morgan (husband Steve Bellini) of Princeton, WV; son Eric J. Morgan (Lea) of Princeton, WV, grandchildren Hayden Morgan and Livi Morgan, both of Princeton, WV; great grandchildren Kelsy Morgan (Hunter Bailey) of Indian Creek, WV; and Hanna Morgan (Justin Kenneda) of Baileysville, WV; and great-great grandchildren Araya Lester, Brennex Lester, August Bailey, Keegan Kenneda, and Jaxtyn Kenneda; daughter-in-law Melissa Chapman, and nephews Dr. James “Pat” Morgan of Athens, and Christopher Morgan of Wellington, Colorado. Family and friends may gather at the Hanover Missionary Baptist Church, Hanover, WV on Thursday, Aug 7, 2025 at 12:00 PM for the Visitation. Preacher Jackie Lester will officiate a Memorial Service beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow on the Morgan Family Farm in Hanover, WV. Honorary Pallbearers will be French’s Columbia Gas coworkers: Kelly Brooks, Mackie Cline, Marty Cooper, Jeff Gibson, Sidney Lane, Leonard Maynard, and Arbie McComas. Pall Bears will also include Hayden Morgan, Justin Kenneda, Hunter Bailey, Shannon Alger and Shane Toler.
