. Princeton- Eleanor Tracy Hall, 91, of Glenwood Park Retirement Village, died Monday December 17, 2007 at GlenWood Park Retirement Village.? Eleanor was born in Bluefield, September 8, 1916, the only child of John Stillman Hall and Addie Tracy Hall, who were both from Monroe County.? Following her graduation from Beaver High School, she attended Bluefield College for two years and continued her education at Agnes Scott College, Decatur, Georgia, earning a degree in biology with an emphasis in botany.? ???? After graduation, Eleanor returned to Bluefield and worked for the National Youth Administration until World War II, when she took a position in Baltimore as Secretary to the personnel manager at Glen Martin Co., whose 1500 employees constructed B-52 bombers.? During her free time, Eleanor participated in a hiking group and attended concerts and other cultural events.? ???? When the war ended, she moved back home and took a secretarial job at the Richardson and Kemper law firm in Bluefield.? After five years, Eleanor enrolled in graduate school at the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, Virginia.? The sudden death of her mother bought her back to Bluefield to be with her father.? She began a 21-year career as a secretary in the Westminster Presbyterian Church.? In 1954, Mr. Hall married Ella Sue Wright Crockett, who had a daughter and three children, her new family. ???? Because of her interest in World Missions, in1974, Eleanor took the position of Secretary in the Division of International Missions of Presbyterian General Assembly Mission Board in Atlanta, where she lived until her retirement in 1981.? Her father died during that time, and Eleanor returned to Bluefield to be close to her new family members. ???? Eleanor continued to respond to the call to share the gospel with the world and worked to promote interest and support of World Missions in Westminster Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church, also sharing her many talents and gifts that form the church. She sang in the church choirs for many years, directed the children's choir for a short time, worked with the youth, taught Sunday School, was active in the Presbyterian Women in both churches, and was given Life Membership in Presbyterian Women by Westminster Presbyterian Church.? In Presbyterian Women at First Presbyterian Church, she was a member of Circle I and on the Presbyterian Women's Council, serving as Coordinator of Mission Interpretation and Action.? She initiated the Sewing for Mission, stuffing animals to be delivered by Loving Hugs and the Medical Benevolence Foundation to children in orphanages and hospitals abroad.? Eleanor served as Deacon and Elder in First Presbyterian Church. ???? Throughout her working life and retirement, she traveled extensively, visiting all 50 states and numerous foreign countries.? Her journeys included three trips to Europe and visits to the Holy Land, South Korea, Indonesia, Mexico, Morocco, Spain and Portugal.?? ???? She was always interested in raising flowers, roses and pansies, her favorites.? She enjoyed needlepoint and embroidery and accumulated a collection of bird figurines and miniature pitchers.? She enjoyed painting, and her beautiful, inspirational paintings are cherished as family memorial keepsakes.? She was a member of the Bibbee Nature Club, The Little Gardens Club, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the McGuffy Book Club. ???? She is survived by her cousin, Margaret Ann (Peggy) Winfrey Hart and her husband, Harold M. Hart of Ashburn, VA , and their children, Douglas Hart; Katherine Hart Brittle and husband, Charles Brittle; Thomas Hart and wife, Kim, and their children, Kevin, Lindsey, and Melissa; and Bruce Hart; by her cousin, Mary Price Winfrey Morris, and her husband, James O. Morris, of Newton, Utah, and their Children, Karen Morris Allen; Stephen Morris and wife, Mary Ellen, and their children Joseph, Jacob, Sarah, Julie, and Mary; Cathleen Morris Kelsey and her husband, Lance Kelsey, and their children, Stephanie and Melissa; by her cousin, Dr. Homer Cooper, of Athens, GA; by her cousin, Agnes Leach Tracy, of Roanoke, VA; by her step-sister, Loraine Crockett Alley, of Ocala, FL and Virginia Beach, VA; by her step nieces and nephew, Mary Sue Alley Crommelin and husband, Richard G. Crommelin, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA; Myra Crockett Alley Wood and husband, Royce G. Wood, of Ocala, FL; Col. Richard F. Alley, Jr. and wife Jean Burns Alley, of Charlottesville, VA; by her great step nieces and nephews, Richard G. Crommelin, III and his wife Nicole Golleher Crommelin of Portland, OR; Katherine Loraine Crommelin of Burlington, VT; Robert William Alley and David Christopher Alley of Charlottesville, VA; Richard Thomas Alley of Manassas, VA; Reynold P. A receiving of friends will be held in the Church Parlor before the funeral service from 10 until 11 a.m.? Elders and Deacons of First Presbyterian Church will serve as active pallbearers.?
