Dolly Lee Hancock

Dolly Lee “mom-mom” Hancock, 61, of Bluefield, WV, died Thursday June 15, 2023 at her daughter’s home. Born December 22, 1961 in Bluefield, she was a daughter of the late Bubby Dailey, Sr. and Ann McGuire Dailey and raised by parents, Herman and Blanche McGuire. Mrs. Hancock was an amazing mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and person. She loved and took care of everyone. Her love was unconditional, and she saw the best in everyone and everything. She was a true, God-fearing woman who attended Harbour Light Baptist Church. Dolly left her mark wherever she went in life. Her traditions and ways of life will be taught and handed down for generations to come. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Wanda Hancock; brother, Harry Lee Dailey; and grandchildren, Herman Hancock, Jr., Ashlyn Flack, Alanah Flack, and Christopher Daniel Flack. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 45 years, Daniel David Hancock of the home; nine children, Juanita Dailey (Dirtbike) of Bluefield, WV, Dolly Dailey (Jackie) of Bluefield, VA, Tina Hancock of Bluefield, WV, Ashley Hancock (Gerold) of Bluefield, WV, Susan Hancock (Roleek) of Bluefield, WV, Angela Hancock (Shaquille) of Bluefield, WV, David Hancock, Jr. (Stayce) of Bluefield, WV, Christopher Shaun Hancock (Amanda) Bluefield, WV, and Herman Hancock (Danielle) of Princeton, WV; seven siblings, Linda Morris (Mitch) of North Carolina, Susan Meadows of Bluefield, WV, Joe Dailey (Pamela) of Bluefield, WV, Christina Moore (Jamie) of Virginia, Patricia Hoops of Virginia, Michael Hoops of Virginia, and Bubby Junior Dailey of Virginia; 31 grandchildren, Cody Wayne Dailey, Bobby Lee Carter, Bradley Kyle Carter, Shane Tyler Carter, Megan Elizabeth Carter, Joey Hancock, Faith Hancock, Tyler Cornett, Daniel Doggett, Felecity Gonzin, Frank Gonzin, Jeremiah Gonzin, Ashlyn Flack, Alyssa Flack, Turtle Flack, Aleah Thompson, Christopher Thompson, Ryleek Chambers, Royalty Chambers, Malaki Chambers, Kholoe Dailey, Zoey Hancock, Cailiegh Hancock, Violet Hancock, Evie Hancock, Mandy Hancock, Shauna Hancock, Emily Hancock, Landon Hancock, Dylan Hancock, and Brooklyn Hancock; and great-grandchildren, Camdan Dailey, Carson Dailey, Claire Dailey, Braxton Carter, Zaiden Carter, Greyson Carter, Carly Carter, Dominik Carter, Laila Carter, Zander Hancock, Zayliegh Hancock, Hunter Dailey, Tucker Umberger, Kinsley Umberger, Tavion Mays, Kaiden Carter, Brayden Carter, and Kailianna Shanklin; and special niece, Amy Weston. A funeral service will be held on Sunday June 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Mercer Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Lane officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, VA where Christopher Shaun Hancock, David Daniel Hancock, Jr., Herman Hancock, Landon Hancock, Gerald Flack, Sr., and Gerald Flack, Jr. will serve as pallbearers.
