Mrs. Bessie Mae Kenebrew, 79, of Bluefield, WV, passed away on Sunday April 2, 2023 in Bluefield, WV. She was born July 29, 1943 in Pocahontas, VA. She graduated high school in Pocahontas, Virginia, attended Bluefield Business College, and did office work. Mrs. Bessie Mae Kenebrew was known for being a loving woman that helped raised many people. Her love for her kids and grandchildren was incomparable. She loved fashion and getting dressed up and most of all she loved going to get her hair done. She enjoyed listening to her old jams and dancing. She also loved watching Joyce Meyers and many other preachers preach. She loved the Lord and would talk about him all the time and how good he was. She also loved her biscuit and gravy with coffee as well as many other snacks. She also loved the "Feed the children program" she looked forward to receiving photos of all the children she helped feed. She cooked her famous meals and the family favorites were her cube steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, and chicken and dumplings. She always would remind everyone of how handsome or beautiful they were and truly knew how to make others feel good about themselves. She was the most loving person anyone could have ever met. To know her was truly a Blessing and she will forever be missed. Our Angel! She was preceded in death by her husband George Kenebrew Sr. Her children, George “Punkin” Kenebrew Jr. and Teresa Buchanan. Her great grandchildren, Laquita Buchanan and Dalysha Buchanan; her parents, Bessie Mae and Creed Frazier Catron; and six brothers, Claude, Clearnce, Heburit, Neal, John, and Junior. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Cathy Cifizzari (Michale) of Boynton Beach, FL, Bessie Tyson (Randolph) of Bluefield, WV, Charles Buchanan of North Carolina, Chasity Price (Richard) of Charlotte, NC, Shakara Dowell (Andre) of Bluefield, WV, and Jane Lewis (Timothy Dowell) of Bluefield, WV; grandchildren, Charles, Audra (Brandon) Fairchild, Jonathan (Siki) Cifizzari, Bridget, Chasity, Andrew, Sasha, Alexander, George, Lashondra, Shontel Zahria, Richchelle Deal (Garrett), Yasmeen, Punkin, Seandre, Ezaria, Dynashia, Jayda, and Domanick; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Samantha, Wyatt, Shayla, Dalysha, Kani, TaShawn, Malaya, Crystal, Alaya, Malikki, Lashontae, Quadarius Jr., and Messiah A funeral service will be held on Monday April 10, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jonny Davis officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from noon until the service hour. Entombment will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens where family members will serve as pallbearers.
