Bluefield, WV- Walter MacArthur “Mack” Johnson, 67, of Bluefield, WV, died Friday May 14, 2010 at his home. Born September 24, 1942 in Bluefield, WV, he was a son of the late Thomas E. Johnson and Jessie Nunn Johnson. He graduated from Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute in September 1986 and served as pastor at several churches. He also worked at Consol Turkey Gap mine and Acme Market. Mr. Johnson was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Bluefield, WV. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved God, his family and his country. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Johnson Evans of Bluefield, VA; and brothers, Gene Johnson and Haskell Johnson, both of Bluefield. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Baker Johnson of the home; two children, Teresa Johnson Andrews and her husband David of Bland, VA and Michael Johnson of Bluefield, WV; one grandson, Brandon Trent Belcher; sisters, Shirley Sink and her husband Jesse of Nemours, WV and Joyce Gunter and her husband Melvin of Austintown, OH; brothers, Donald Johnson and his wife Eleanor of Bluefield, WV, George Johnson and his wife Barbara of Amarillo, TX and Jack Johnson and his wife Brenda of Elyria, OH; a special nephew Danny and his wife Lisa; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Sunday evening May 16, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday May 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Bailey and Pastor Daniel Gunnoe officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with Pastor Tim Carbaugh officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Mercer County Veteran’s Council and the West Virginia Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers will be Charlie Johnson, Gannon Belcher, Mark Perdue, Dave Meskinish, Robbie Pauley and Donnie Baker.
