Virginia Beatrice Morris

Bluefield, WV- Virginia Beatrice Pack Morris, 98, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning July 28 at her home in Bluefield, WV. She was born March 13, 1918 in Ripplemead ,VA., the daughter of the late Garland and Agnes Pack, and was married to and preceded in death by her husband, Earl Morris. Together they raised three children on Woodland Ave. in Bluefield WV. Over the years she lived in Indian Harbor Beach, FL and Las Vegas, NV before moving back to Bluefield in 2013. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church EPC of Bluefield, WV. Virginia was a woman of great beauty, as recognized in 1933 when she was named the first Miss Giles County Virginia. She was a woman of great talent who shared her gift of music at voice and piano competitions in her teens and at church services, weddings, and funerals for her church family at the First Church of God in Bluefield, WV. Virginia was a woman who valued family. A loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she relished spending time with her sister-in-law, nieces, and nephews in North Carolina. She also enjoy visiting with her nieces and their families in Pembroke, VA as her time there was often filled with hours of laughter, inducing karaoke performances. Chiefly, Virginia was a woman of great faith, living a virtuous life as described in Proverbs 31. She gave of her time, money, and talents to her family, friends, and church. She believed in God’s faithfulness to His children, and that it was His grace that gave purpose to her life and sustained her through difficult times. Virginia is survived by her children, Frances Elghani of Louisville, KY, Joan Moore and husband Bob of Bluefield, WV, Earl J. Morris, Jr. and wife Jean of Collierville, TN, eight grandchildren, Barbara Ponceford, Karen Lawrence, Brian Blevins, Steven Crotty, Elizabeth (Beth) Moore, Robert (Robbie) Moore, Gail Johnson and Rhonda Bologna, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be Tuesday, August 2, at 7:00 pm at Mercer Funeral Home in Bluefield with Wayne Pelts, church elder. The family will receive visitors two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, August 3, 10:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to Bible In The Schools, P.O.
