Sabra Froy

Bluefield, WV- Sabra Ellen “Ruth” Froy, 83, of Bluefield, WV, passed peacefully at home with her family by her side on Sunday May 19, 2013. Born on April 4, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Bertha Bentley Ratliff of Grundy, VA. Ms. Froy was born and raised in Grundy before moving to Bluefield where she was a longtime resident. She was the Operator of numerous clubs and restaurants in the Bluefield area. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Arlin Ratliff, Hattler Ratliff, Allen Ratliff and Estel Ratliff all of Grundy, VA; her partner of 58 years at the time of his death, William James “Jimmy” Froy, Sr.; and her great-grandson, Triston Noah Froy. Surviving Ms. Froy are her two sons, Kenneth Aldo Froy, Sr., and William James “Jimmy” Froy, Jr. and wife Deborah all of Bluefield, WV; one brother, Alex Ratliff and wife Betty of Grundy, VA; eleven grandchildren, William James Froy, III “Trey” of Wytheville, VA, Morgan Jynell Froy of Arlington, VA, Antonio Ameli Froy of Bluefield, WV, Kenneth Aldo Froy, Jr. and wife Amanda of Radford, VA, Scott Tinsley of Oklahoma, Kevin Froy of Corpus Christi, TX, Kenny Aaron Froy of Bluefield, WV, Kimberly Froy of Bluefield, WV, Sherman Asbury of Bluefield, WV, Joey Danley and wife Kayla of Grundy, VA and Christopher Woodward of Bluefield, WV; four great-grandchildren, Dana Spencer and husband Jared of Nashville, TN, Aidan Froy of Bluefield, WV, Caelynn Mancie Froy of Radford, VA and Josie Danley of Grundy, VA; one great-great grandchild, Jayden Spencer of Nashville. TN and many nieces and nephews Funeral services will be conducted Thursday May 23, 2013 at 2:00 pm from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Darryl Christian officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until 2pm. Grandchildren and a special friend Dan “Frosty” Frost will serve as pallbearers and numerous honorary pallbearers. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell, West Virginia.
