Rocky Gap, VA- Phillip Eugene Nelson, 69, of North Scenic Highway (P.O. Box 84), Rocky Gap, is rejoicing in Heaven now after passing away on Tuesday September 23, 2008 at his residence. ???? Born June 21, 1939 in Rocky Gap, VA, he was a son of the late Joe Clyde Nelson and Jessie Lee Conley Nelson.? He had been a resident of Rocky Gap for all of his life.? He was retired as a Plant Manager from Bailey Lumber Company.? Mr. Nelson was an evangelist, he liked to hunt and fish, and most importantly, he was a wonderful husband, and a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.? ???? In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Otis Leon Nelson. ???? He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Eleanor Wilson Nelson of the home; two daughters, Karen Grogan and her husband Richard of Princeton, WV and Sharon McCoy and her husband Barry Wayne of Rocky Gap, VA; one son, Phillip Nelson, Jr. and his wife Tina of Rocky Gap; three sisters, Dorothy Lambert and her husband James of Wytheville, VA, Bonnie Conley of Rocky Gap and Betty Jarrell and her husband Steve of Roanoke, VA; one brother Billy Ray Nelson of Rocky Gap; grandchildren, Jeremiah "Adam" Grogan and his wife Victoria of Princeton, WV, Ashlee "Nichole" Grogan of Princeton, Justin Eugene Nelson and his wife Kayla, Anthony Nelson and Cody Nelson all of Rocky Gap, Karmen McCoy of Rocky Gap; one great grandchild, Savannah Grogan of Princeton; step-grandchildren, Alexis and Crissy Dice of Rocky Gap, Richard Grogan, Jr. and his wife Kendall and Thomas Grogan all of Myrtle Beach, SC; step great-grandchildren, Alex Grogan of TN and Johnny Grogan of Myrtle Beach, SC; and numerous nieces and nephew. ???? The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home in Bluefield on Friday evening September 26, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. ???? Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday September 27, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Evangelist Kenneth Walker and Rev. Ralph Clark officiating. ???? Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV.? Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Nelson, Donnie Nelson, Frankie Nelson, Wayne McCoy, Richard Grogan and Joe Jerrell.? ????
