Norma M. Hedrick Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Norma M. Hedrick It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norma on Wednesday May 17, 2023 after a brief illness. Norma was born March 11, 1934 and was the widow of Bob L. Hedrick, who she was married to for 64 years. Norma was spunky and independent to the end. She was a graduate of Bluefield High School, Bluefield University, and Bluefield State University, having retired from Tazewell County Schools. She was a member and elder of Fincastle Presbyterian Church where she was a circle leader. She was also a member of many clubs. Norma enjoyed her precious cat, Baby. She loved adult coloring books, clothes, jewelry, make-up, lunch with friends, and traveling abroad in early years. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Dophus and Gertrude Mefford; and a sister, Sandra. Norma is survived by nieces, Carla and Sherry. Also, Bob’s sisters, Elizabeth and Janet; many nieces and nephews of Bob’s family; special friends, and wonderful neighbors who will miss her. Thanks to her special neighbors, Jackie and Jim Wilkinson, and Debbie and John Crist for their care and love. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Mercer Funeral Home with Pastor Gerald Manning officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour. Burial will be at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fincastle Presbyterian Church, Bluefield, VA.
