Nellie "Fay" Hawks Doyle

Bluefield, WV- Nellie “Fay” Hawks Doyle, 89, of Bluefield, WV, died Tuesday January 3, 2017 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born September 6, 1927 in Springville, VA, she was a daughter of the late Glen Hawks and Arietta Burnette Hawks. Mrs. Doyle was a charter member of the Church of Christ at Maple View where she was an active member of Lydia Circle. She was also a member of Order of Eastern Star, Bluefield Chapter #66. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlene Gibson; two brothers, Otis Glen Hawks and William Hawks; one sister, Pansy Stevens; and son-in-law, Don Raymond. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 67 years, Ernest H. “Junior” Doyle; two daughters, Brenda Raymond of Christiansburg, VA, and Linda Reed and husband Timothy of Princeton, WV; one brother, Ernest Hawks of San Jose, CA; two sisters, Irene Harman and husband Darrow of N. Tazewell, VA, and Burnell Rourk of Temperance, MI; four grandchildren, Delnora Reed Acuff and husband Howie, Alan Reed and wife Cassie, Christina Rehg, and Rachel Merrix and husband J.D.; eight great-grandchildren, Adriana, Lyndsey, Brylan, Lacie, Easton, Caelan, Zarecka, and Reed; son-in-law, Rick Gibson of Bluefield, WV; and sisters-in-law, Shirley Hawks of Bluefield, VA, Josephine Hawks of Gilbert, WV, Jean Booth of Bluefield, WV; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Thursday evening, January 5, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service at 7:45 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday January 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Tony Reed and Minister Caleb Penwell officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV where Tim Reed, Alan Reed, Howie Acuff, Eddie Neel, J.D. Merrix, and Charles Goins will serve as pallbearers.
