Nancy Annette Burkhart

Nancy Burkhart, 86, passed away on March 9, 2023 at Princeton Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Neal, Sr. and Zirva Neal. She was of the protestant faith, having attended Westminster Presbyterian Church and Calfee Memorial Church. She retired at 76 years old, having worked at Unique Cle3aners for many years and for Case of WV for 30 years. She was preceded in death by two children, Michael and Eddie Burkhart; two grandchildren, Stevie and Emily; and the love of her life and father of her children, Claude Burkhart; daughters-in-law, Paula and Emma Burkhart; sisters, Mary, Margie, and Ruth; and her brother, Sonny Neal. Survivors include her son, Steve Burkhart; daughter, Debbie Nunn and husband Larry; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Nancy loved attending Calfee Memorial and being with her Christian family. She enjoyed being with her family….devoting her whole life to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed going to yard sales, working with her flowers, or cooing applesauce cakes for family and friends at Christmas time. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff, in all departments, at The Maples Health Care. Words cannot express enough the love, compassion, care, and devotion that the nurses gave3 our Mother and her family through the four years that she lived there. We love you all and thank you very much for the wonderful memories that you gave us. We would also like to thank Hospice Compassus for your prayers, visits, and phone calls, Bluefield Hospital and Rescue Squad, Princeton Hospital (Special thanks to Amanda) and Princeton Rescue Squad. A funeral service will be held on Monday March 13, 2023 at 11:00 at Mercer Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Bailey officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from10:00 a.m. until the service hour. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Joseph Nunn, Tim Burkhart, Timmy Burkhart, Steve Cox, Wayne Prevento, and nephews will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the Burkhart family would like to request that donations be made to the Maples Health Care, 1600 Bland Street, Bluefield, WV 24701 for the Activities Department. Miss Nancy or Mawmaw (her names that she went by) would tell her friends to carry on until they meet again
