Jamestown, NC - Maurine Elizabeth "Mimi" Bodell 93 of 103 Wyndwood Drive Jamestown, NC and formerly of Bluefield died Saturday June 6, 2009 at a High Point, NC hospital. Born August 26, 1915 in Princeton, WV she was a daughter of the late Justin Sackett and Sarah Elizabeth Hetherington Sackett. Mimi had re-located in May of 2008 to Jamestown, NC with her daughter Ann and son-in-law R. Jack Richardson, also formerly of Bluefield. Mimi was the youngest of eight children-6 girls and 2 boys, and was married to William Ward Wallace and had daughter Ann. Later she married Russell B. Bodell and become a loving mother to Lynda Bodell. Mimi worked for the General Telephone Company for 39 years. Her career spanned the era from Hello Central to Direct Dialing. She was a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers, an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women Circle #5, and the Golden Age Club of Bluefield. Mimi was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 5 sisters and 2 husbands. She is survived by her daughter Ann Wallace Richardson and her husband R. Jack Richardson; grandson Jack Richardson Jr. and his wife Debbie, great-grandson Trey and his wife Melissa Richardson with great-great-grandson Cole Richardson and Meaghan Richardson of the Greensboro, NC area; grandson Rusty Richardson and his wife Kathy, great-granddaughter Katy and great-grandson Tommy of Oxford, Ohio; grandson David Richardson and his wife Donna, great-grandson Justin and great-granddaughter Jennifer of Pickens, South Carolina; granddaughter Julie Richardson Phillips and her husband Richard, and great-grandchildren Ned, Amy, Zoe, and Ali of Oak Ridge, NC. Mimi is also survived by her daughter Lynda Bodell Gentry and her husband Harold Leffel Gentry of Old Hickory, TN; grandson Galen Gentry and his wife Riza and great-grandson Asa Gentry of Los Angeles, CA; grandson Sean Gentry and his wife Marianne, great-grandson Winston and great-granddaughter Charlotte of Sydney, Australia; grandson Kris Gentry and his wife Susan of Mammoth Lakes, CA and great-grandson Brent Staple of San Luis Obispo, CA. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday June 9, 2009 at 11:00 am at the chapel of Mercer Funeral Home with Dr. Don Scott and The Rev. Susan Rector officiating. Interment will follow at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Green Valley. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Monday June 8, 2009 at the funeral home from 7:00 - 9:00 pm.
