Mary Lou Robinette

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Mother and Grannie. Mary Lou Robinette, 87, of Bluefield, WV, entered Heaven peacefully on Sunday, September 10, 2023 with her loving family by her side. She was born January 6, 1936 in Logan County, WV. She was the daughter of the late Curtis Wayne Lester and Vida Elva Perry Lester. Mary Lou was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Bluefield, WV, where she served on several committees, volunteered, and was active in OASIS. She was well-known for her love of seasonal decorations, especially her Christmas village that she shared with family and friends for years. Mary Lou loved driving her yellow Thunderbird, gardening and flowers, reading, and working both word and jigsaw puzzles. Above all, her family was the most important aspect of her life. Our lives will most definitely be a little dimmer without her constant love, sunny disposition, strength, positivity, and humor that she gave us daily. We will carry her love, spirit, and wonderful memories deep in our hearts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard W. Robinette, three brothers, Eugene, Ronald, and Dale Lester; sisters-in-law, Gloria Lester, Anna Lester and special nephew, Curtis Lester. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving daughter Elaine Hincher and husband Bill of Bluefield, WV; step-children, Tom Robinette and wife Joyce of Cross Lanes, WV, Randy Robinette of Decatur, GA, Mike Robinette and Pam Baum, both of Melbourne, FL; grandchildren, Christopher Hincher of Burke’s Garden, VA and Katie Hincher of Bluefield, WV; three step-grandchildren, Kelly and Kim Robinette of Charleston, WV, Tracey Mains of Hurricane, WV, and Stephanie Wood of Hopkinsville, KY; two step-great-grandchildren, Devon and Remi; special niece, Lisa Dawn New (Randall) of North Spring, WV; and several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. A funeral service at 1:00 p.m. will be held with Reverend Ed Fisher and Dr. Shawn White officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memory Park in Bluewell, where Christopher Hincher, Tom Robinette, Larry Lester, Don White, Abel Solademi, and Randy Rigg will serve as pallbearers.
