John William Riddle IV

On Monday, March 2, 2020, John William Riddle, IV, loving husband, son, and father of two precious children, passed away at the age of 47. John was born on January 18, 1973 in Bluefield, WV, to John and Carol (White) Riddle, III. He attended Bluefield High School in Bluefield, WV. He continued his education at Bluefield State College in Bluefield, WV and Mountain State University in Beckley, WV graduating with a Master’s degree in Nursing: nurse anesthesia in 2010. John worked at Bluefield Regional Medical Center as a CRNA in the Operating Room. On September 6, 2003, John married the loved of his life, Billie Compton, who is a registered nurse at Princeton Community Hospital. John and Billie met while attending nursing school at Bluefield State College. He resided in Bluefield, WV with his wife and their two children whom he cherished and was exceptionally proud of, Zachary Derek and Isabella Grace. John was an avid movie buff, a craft beer connoisseur, and had an unending addiction to collecting Funko pops. He will be most remembered for his sense of humor that always made you laugh, his kindness to others, and his love for music. John was preceded in death by his grandparents; John W. and Georgia (Poff) Riddle Jr., Stockton Wilson and Grace (Bowman) White, uncles, Stockton Wilson White, Jr. and Tillman Riddle and wife Gay (Nabors) Riddle; and cousin, Chris Riddle Newberry. Family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Saturday March 7, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Dr. Thomas Conley officiating.
