James Edward Wallace Jr.

Bluefield, WV- James Edward Wallace, Jr., 74, of Bluefield, WV, died Tuesday July 13, 2021. Born October 14, 1946 in Berwind, WV, he was a son of the late James Edward Wallace, Sr. and Isabelle Boyd Wallace. Mr. Wallace is a veteran of the U S. Marine Corp. He proudly served his country in Vietnam and was the recipient of two Purple Heart awards. He was a member of the Church of God at Maple View and retired as a Forman from West Virginia American Water Company. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outside hunting and fishing. He loved racing, boxing, and sports in general. The most important priority for Mr. Wallace was his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, a wonderful father to his children, and a magnificent grandfather to his grandbabies. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Owen Wallace; sisters, Margaret Vargas and Geneva Wallace; and brother, Wayne Wallace. Survivors include his wife, Mary “Tenny” “Tina” Wallace; son, Donnie Lambert; daughter, Fonda Morgan; siblings, Doris (Dan) Brooks, Carmelita Robertson, Gloria Jane Honaker, Bill Wallace, Rodney (Shelby) Wallace, Michael Wallace, Marsha (Mike) Albright, Cathy (Calvin) Proffitt, Mary Baker, and Melinda Simms; four grandchildren, Audra (Brandon) Griffey, Annette Lambert, Sydney and Mitchell Hughes, and Cody Wallace; four great-grandchildren, Jaylin, Ian, Braxton, and Isabella. A funeral service will be held on Monday July 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Tony Reed officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Park Cemetery where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. Military graveside rites will be provided by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.
