Bluefield, VA- Helen Elizabeth Lee, 87, of 636 Dove Circle, Bluefield, VA and formerly of Ohio Street, Bluefield, WV, died Tuesday June 14, 2011 at her home. Born June12, 1924 in Kimball, WV, she was a daughter of the late John Agee and Nellie Yates Agee. Mrs. Lee had worked at Publix Supermarket and was of the Methodist faith. She was a wonderful mother, and was known as a great cook. Mrs. Lee was an avid reader and enjoyed doing embroidery work. She enjoyed walking and was an independent woman. It has been said that when God made Helen, He broke the mold. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband John W. Lee; three sisters, Hazel Farley, Juanita Harmon, and Laura Blackwell; and two brothers, Wilson Agee and Wilton Agee. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Ginger Lee and husband Luigi DeBoni of Bluefield, VA, Sharon Laster of Honolulu, HI, and Linda Martin of Millersville, MD; one brother, Robert Lee Agee of Pocahontas, VA; grandchildren, Hunter and Weston Huchthausen of Bluefield, VA, Zachary Laster and his wife Felicia Braun-Laster of Honolulu, HI, and Sean Martin and Ryan Martin of Millersville, MD; nephew, Eddie Harmon of Bluefield, VA; and nieces Debbie Spracher and Barbara Shields; sister-in-law, Kathleen Lee of Green Valley; her amazing caregivers, Cathy Wimmer, Maria Curry and Kathi Hicks; and special friends, Cecil and Trish Smith and Patricia Wimmer. . Funeral services will be conducted from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel on Friday June 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Baker and Rev. Brent Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour. Burial will be private at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
