Fred Walker

Bluefield, WV - Fred Judson Walker 70 of 829 College Avenue Bluefield, WV died Tuesday October 16, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born May 9, 1942 in Big Stick, WV, he was a son of the late Fred Taft Walker and Lela Ethel Riddle Walker. Judson had lived in Bluefield since 1981, moving here from Beckley. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was the owner of Judson Walker Insurance with State Farm for 33 years. He was a member of the Bluefield-Mercer Lodge # 85A.F. & A.M where he was the former Treasurer, the Bluefield Order of Eastern Star #66 where he served as Worthy Patron, the Scottish Rite and the Beni Kedem Shrine, Charleston, WV. Judson was also a Charter Life Underwriter. Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Judson was an avid Mountaineer fan and a Beaver fan, attending many games. He also enjoyed four wheeling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Bethany Patton. Survivors include his wife, Norma P. Walker of the home; one son, Jeffrey P. Walker and wife Lisa of Beckley, WV; two daughters, Tamara W. Patton and husband Chris of Bluefield and Jackie W. Berry and husband Billy of Athens, TN; two brothers, Charles Robert Walker and wife Mary of Ocala, FL and Gary W. Walker and wife Millie of Lexington, KY; and grandchildren, T.J. Stiffler, Amber Patton, Christina Patton, McKenzie Walker, Karsyn Walker, Brady Berry, Sarah Beth Patton, Ty Patton and Brooks Berry. The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Friday evening October 19, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday October 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Susan Rector and Dr. Don Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA where Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by the Bluefield-Mercer Lodge # 85 A.F. & A.M. Pallbearers will be members of the Masonic Lodge. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Lilly, Billy Lilly, Jack Lilly, Scott Collier, Jack Parker and Denver Raines.
