Bluefield, WV- Ernest "Sam" Froy, Jr., 53, of 2118 Walton Avenue, Bluefield, WV, died Thursday August 7, 2008 at his residence after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. ???? Born May 11, 1955 in Bluefield, WV, he was a son of Martha "Eudine" Froy and the late Ernest Sam Froy, Sr. ???? Sam lived most all of his life in Bluefield.? He was a Vietnam Era Veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He worked at the Bluefield Post Office for 27 years, where he was a Technician. Sam loved his job and the people that he worked with.? He loved his family, relied on God and enjoyed music and motorcycles.? He had worked with numerous bands through the years.? He was a member of the Sons of Italy and was of the Church of God faith.? ???? In addition to his father, Sam was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Sam and Frances Froy and his maternal grandparents, Henry and Bertha Hartley. ???? Survivors in addition to his mother, Eudine Froy of Bluefield, WV are his wife of 18 years, Patricia One-Bull, the great-great-great granddaughter of Sitting Bull's Father, Jumping Bull.? Sam was well loved by his wife especially for the love and devotion that he gave to her and for being there for her so that they could be blessed by God to have wonderful children, Samuel Storm Froy, Patrick Sage Froy and Chelsea Summer Froy, all of the home. Sam is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.? ???? The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Sunday evening, August 10, 2008 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. ???? Funeral services will be conduced on Monday August 11, 2008 from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Randy Cline and Dr. Allen A. Hammond officiating.? ???? Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.? Family members, Kenneth Richmond, Jeff Coyle, Jimmy Froy, Raymond Froy, Steve Froy, Kenneth Froy and Trey Froy will serve as pallbearers.?? Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Bluefield Post Office.? ????
