Bluefield, WV- Elsie Mae Adams, 93, of Bluefield, WV, died Saturday October 29, 2011 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born May 23, 1918 in Bluefield, WV she was a daughter of the late Robert L. French and Katherine D. Brinkley French. Mrs. Adams was a lifelong resident of Bluefield and was a homemaker. She was of the Protestant faith, loved to collect dolls, and enjoyed listening to Country & Western music. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and the Norfolk and Western Lady’s Auxiliary. She was a Dale Earnhardt fan and loved to watch NASCAR. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Forest “Jack” Adams; one daughter, Kay Pasion; sister, Evelyn Hill; brother, Leon French; granddaughter, Jaime Lynn Adams; grandson, Donald G. Hart, Jr.; and one great-grandson, Jason Turner. Left to cherish her memory are six daughters, Janet Starling of Bluefield, WV, Carol Shrader and husband Billy Gene of Rocky Gap, VA, Barbara Hart of Orlando, FL, Mary Riley and husband Larry of Waterford, MI, Brenda Sheaffer and husband Robert of Ronks, PA, and Pamela Gillette and husband Joe of Marietta, GA; three sons, Larry Adams and wife Nina of Bluefield, WV, Richard Adams and wife Kimberly of Hurricane, WV, and William Adams and fiancé Mary Honaker of Bluefield, WV; one son-in-law, Vince Pasion of San Jose, CA; 24 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Tuesday November 1, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday November 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where Brian Shrader, Joe Starling, Robert Adams, Ramie Adams, Eric Adams, Larry Riley, Michael Abbatello and Joey Stone will serve as pallbearers.
