Elizabeth “Libby” A. Linkous Elizabeth Ann Linkous, age 96, of Bluefield, WV passed away peacefully on September 15, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bluefield on December 4, 1924 and a lifelong resident of Bluefield. Elizabeth was a graduate of Beaver High School and a proud later-in-life graduate of Bluefield State College class of 1981. Libby was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a dynamic participant in political affairs. Elizabeth’s greatest loves were God and her family. She was preceded in death by parents Tom and Anna Catsonis, loving husband Thomas S. Linkous and cherished son Thomas L. Linkous. Brothers Joe and Leo Catsonis, and sister Catherine Mandeville. She is survived by daughter-in-law Kathy Linkous wife of Thomas, Stan Linkous (Patty) of Apex, NC, Judy Shrewsbury (Donald) of Bluefield, WV, Mary Alice Arnold (Tim) of Myrtle Beach, SC, John Linkous (Sandy) of Fincastle, VA, Christine Arthur of Stockbridge GA. In addition, she leaves 15 grandchildren, Joi Beth Raub, Jason Linkous, Molly Linkous, Cathie Linkous, Mike Linkous, Donald Shrewsbury, Leslie Shrewsbury Cox, David Shrewsbury, Sarah Arnold Williams, Brian Arnold, Anna Grace Linkous Randolph, Betsy Linkous Smith, Mary Linkous Barnette, Morgan Arthur and Rachel Arthur. Seven Great grandchildren Katie Raub, Trace McLaren, Aliyah Linkous, Esther, Jesse, David and Hunter Williams. Two Great-great grandchildren Sophia and Peyton Bonner. Additional relatives include sister-in-law’s Janet Catsonis and Norma Linkous and many special nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1017 Wyoming Street, Bluefield, WV on Monday September 27, 2021 at 1:00 PM with Father Sebastian E. Devasya of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating. The graveside service will be a private family affair at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. The service will also be live streamed by the church. The family requests that all who attend the funeral please abide by the recommended COVID-19 Guidelines including appropriate face coverings for vaccinated and unvaccinated attendees and exercise social distancing procedures.
