Edwin Allen Furrow Sr.

Bluefield, WV- Edwin Allen Furrow, Sr., 78, of Bluefield, VA, died Tuesday November 28, 2023 at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN. Born January 15, 1945 in Beckley, WV, he was a son of the late Warren Stephen Furrow and Ruth Ann Sessler. Mr. Furrow worked as a Shop Foreman at Tabor Machinery where he went on to retire after 37 years of service. He was a member and former deacon at Memorial Baptist Church. Eddie was a loving husband, father, and loved being a grandfather the most. He cherished being able to be at all of the football, baseball, and basketball games, along with every school function. Prior to his loving wife passing away, they enjoyed spending time together traveling to Myrtle Beach, Pigeon Forge, and visiting family. He enjoyed car shows and NASCAR racing, and loved watching Graham G-Men football. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dietra Sue Furrow in 2018. Survivors include his children, Edwin Allen “Todd” Furrow, Jr. and wife Jessica of Knoxville, TN, David “Tyler” Furrow and wife Monica of Dublin, VA, and Dietra Monte “Dee Dee” Furrow of Bluefield, VA; siblings, Warren David Furrow and wife Pam of Bluefield, WV, and Belinda Marchand and husband Walt of Jefferson, GA; grandchildren, Kyle Todd Furrow and wife Amber, Issac Hayes and wife Jenna, Tanner Hayes and wife Makayla, Cory Hayes and wife Karah, Cody Furrow and wife Mehrshid Mohadian, Hunter Furrow and wife Destiny, Cameron Furrow and wife Taylor, Miranda Chucales and husband Tate, Kelsey Montgomery, and Konner Furrow; great-grandchildren, Carter Furrow, Colton Furrow, Bennett Hayes, Mason Hayes, Hutchinson Hayes, Shepherd Hayes, Mia Jones, Eden Hayes, Josiah Furrow, and Jaycee Furrow; nieces and nephews, Warren Furrow and wife Kara, Brian Kikes, Shannon Jamison, Riley Jamison, Ashley Marchand, Travis Marchand and wife Mary; great niece, Avery Furrow; and his granddogs, Koda and Misty. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday December 1, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from noon until the service hour. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
