Clarence Edward Fowler

Bluefield, WV- Clarence “Eddie” Edward Fowler, 70, of Bluefield, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday October 22, 2015. Born July 4, 1945 in Coal Mountain, WV, he was the son of the late John F. Fowler and Bessie I. Pilkins Fowler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter Fowler, Johnny Fowler, James A. Fowler, and Robert F. Fowler; and three sisters, Marvella Bishop, Lula-gay Firestone and Rosa Hatfield. He had formerly worked as a manager for NAPA Auto Parts. He retired from Advance Auto Parts. He was known for his expertise as an auto mechanic. He even built his own car from the frame up. He loved to talk about cars over a cup of coffee. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Faith Channel with Rev. Darrell D. Davis (Rev-up-Man) his pastor (and also his nephew). Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Kitty Smithson Fowler; one daughter, Jodie Burton and boyfriend Randy Jones of Green Valley, WV; son, James D. Fowler and wife Rachel of Perrysburg, OH, and Jim E. Fowler of the home; sisters, Pauline Davis of Abingdon, VA, and Nancy Ross of Bluefield, WV; godson, John L. Fowler and wife Marsha of Hopewell, VA. He was a proud and loving grandpa of seven grandchildren, Jennifer L. Fowler, Jessica D. Fowler, Victoria Burton, Mason Burton, Joshua L. Fowler, Taylor Bates, and Hazel M. Fowler; one step grandson, Cody Pendergrass; one adopted granddaughter, Liz Stauffer; great-grandchildren, Chloe M. Gibson and Kiley Gibson; two step-greatgrandchildren, Jordan Tyson and Arianna Tyson; and very special family friends, Amy Helmondollar and family of Princeton, WV, and Shawn Bales of Bluefield, WV; lifelong friends, Roy Underwood of Bluefield, Richard McLaughlin of Hardyville, VA, and Wayne Shutt of Bland, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. There will be a memorial service at Brushfork Baptist Church (Pastor Wes Lambert) on Saturday October 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Darrell Davis and Pastor Randy Smithson officiating. Special singing will be provided by Carla Bragg.
