And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” Springville, VA- Charles Keith “Chip” Burleson, Jr., 49, of Springville, VA, passed away peacefully in his home on the morning of Tuesday, January 11, 2022. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jason Tiller, Sr. and Loretta Tiller; and three uncles, Jason, Jr., Larry, and Stanley Tiller. He is survived by his mother, Sharon Tiller Burleson of Springville; four children, Jacob A. Burleson of Oak Ridge, TN, Amber Burleson of Durham, NC, Naval Officer Autumn Estrada LTJG and husband Nikcoe Estrada of Mililani, HI, and Julia Burleson of Hope Mills, NC; two grandchildren, Maximus Burleson and Spencer Estrada; special uncle and aunt, Bill and Karen Collins of Mount Carmel, TN; aunts, Eva Stiltner of Springville, VA, and Nancy Hess of Safety Harbor, FL; as well as a host of cousins, family, and friends. Charles graduated from Graham High School in 1990. He proceeded to Basic Training and completed service in the Army National Guard. He had a successful career in Telecommunications. He moved to the Greensboro/Fayetteville, NC area and in 2015 took his final job assignment at AT&T. As a top performer in his field, he received multiple awards and prizes to include an all expense trip to Aruba with his son. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan, with an unmatched love for the game. He had a passion for concerts, music, fishing, movies, and riding his motorcycle. He will be forever missed. The family would like to thank Christine Stilwell with Kindred Hospice, Dr. Shelia Patel at Tazewell Family Medicine, Morristown-Hamblen Hospital, and Johnson City Medical Center. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday January 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Mercer Funeral Home with Minister Tony Reed officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
