Caney Lee “Hank” Muncy August 9, 1937 – January 24, 2024 Janice Elaine Muncy November 13, 1939 – January 30, 2024 Hank Muncy, 86, of Bluefield, WV, passed away on Wednesday January 24, 2024. Born August 9, 1937 in Hinton, WV, he was the son of the late Caney and Lucy Muncy. Janice Muncy, 84, of Bluefield, WV, passed away on Tuesday January 30, 2024. Born November 12,1939, in Hinton, WV, she was a daughter of the late Basil and Gladys Gill. Janice and Hank were married in Hinton, WV on November 23, 1956. In 1965 the couple moved to Bluefield, WV where they raised their four children. The last years of their lived, they resided at Westwood Nursing Home in Bluefield, VA where they shared a room together. During the last months of their lives their beds were placed together and they would sleep holding hands. After 67 years of marriage, they were only separated from each other for six days. – A true love story – In addition to their parents, Janice and Hank were preceded in death by their daughter, Deborah Muncy. Surviving children are Patricia (Joe) McKenna of Bluefield, VA, Lisa (George) Sydnor of Bluefield, WV, and John Muncy of Bluefield, WV; grandchildren, Lee-Anne (Brad) Greene, Jacob Cole, Ever (Brandon) Pauley, Emma (Drew) Bailey, Carol-Anne Cole, and Layden Peery, all of Bluefield; two step-grandchildren, Taylore and Lydia Sydnor of Fincatle, VA; fifteen great grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room, Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not for long And not with your head bowed low Remember the love that once we shared Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take And each must go alone. It’s all part of a master plan A step on the road home. When you are lonely and sick at heart Go to the friends we know. Laugh at all the things we used to do Miss us, but let us go. A private family service will be held on Monday February 5, 2024 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
