Alma Sue Litton

Alma Sue Litton, 85 of Blacksburg, VA, and formerly of Burlington, NC, and Bluefield, WV, died Thursday, January 23, 2025, in English Meadows Senior Assisted Living Facility. Born February 25, 1939, in Princeton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Willie Edward Mullins and Hazel Rosa Bell Mullins (Caudill). She was retired from R& T Electric in Falls Mills, VA, and K-Mart in Burlington, NC. She was a member of the Elks Club and Junior Woman’s Club of Bluefield, WV. She was an adamant supporter of the Bluefield Recreation Department programs, including baseball, football, and basketball, and coached cheerleading. She was an ardent fan of the Bluefield High School Beavers, her alma mater. She was a member of Edgemont Baptist Church in Bluefield, WV, and Faith Christian Church in Christiansburg, VA. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Farley Kirk “Bud” Litton Jr., father, mother, brothers William Russell Mullins and Jackie Ray Mullins, and sister Mary Jo Sands. She is survived by sons Farley Kirk Litton III and fiancé Janice Dove Hodge of Christiansburg, Va., and Tracy Edward Litton and wife Charlotte Ann Litton of Sneads Ferry, NC. Grandchildren Crystie Leigh Stump (John) of Christiansburg, VA, Gregory Kirk Litton of Radford, VA, Kayla Nichole Showalter (Jacob) of Madrid, Spain, Joshua Cullen Litton (Alexandria) of Sierra Vista, AZ., Nicole Hodge of Christiansburg, Va., and Ashley Hopper (Steven) of Tiplersville, MS. Great-grandchildren David Lee Currie and Aiden Gregory Currie of Christiansburg, Va, Audrey Ella Showalter, Hazel Elizabeth Showalter, Augustine “Gus” Michael Showalter, and Baby Showalter of Madrid, Spain, Torin Michael Litton of Sierra Vista, AZ, Russell Cutsforth Hopper, Anna Lauren Hopper, and Olivia Marie Hopper of Tiplersville, MS, Eli Matthew Head of Christiansburg, VA, and brothers-in-law Norman Galyon of Princeton, WV and Don Elmore of Wytheville, VA. The family will have a visitation at Faith Christian Church in Christiansburg, VA on Wednesday, January 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. followed by a memorial service. The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Thursday evening January 30, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 31, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with David Hodge officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Princeton where Greg Litton, Joshua Litton, Jacob Showalter, David Currie, Aiden Currie, Mark Sands, and John Thompson will serve as pallbearers.
