Bluefield- William “ Harry” Brooks, 62, of Midlothian, VA, formerly of Bluefield, WV,  died Thursday May 25, 2006 at his home. Born October 1, 1943 in Bluefield, WV he was a son of the late Geraldine Gilpin Brooks and Marvin E. Brooks of Bland, VA. Mr. Brooks was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bluefield WV, Crestwood Presbyterian Church in Midlothian, VA, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Bluefield Elks Lodge # 269, a retired General Contractor and a retired Coal Operator of Brooks Coal Corp. including; KST Mining, Kesta Mining, and THC Mining.

   In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his brother; Robert Edwin Brooks.

   Survivors include his wife; Donna Jarrell Brooks of the home, two sons;  William Kevin Brooks and wife Beth of Bluefield, WV, and  Randall Scott Brooks of Charlotte, NC, a daughter; Tammy Renea Brooks of Midlothian, VA, and a grandson; Kevin E. Brooks of Bluefield, WV.

   Funeral services for Mr. Brooks will be conducted Monday May 29, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Fisher officiating. Burial will follow from the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery located in Princeton, WV.

   Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday May 28, 2006 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Serving the family as pallbearers will be; David Thompson, Martin Jarrell, Joe Roche, Kevin E. Brooks, Ray Jarrell, and Robbie Brooks.
