Bobby Lee George, 81, of
1222 Heatherwood Extension, Bluefield, WV expired Friday May 5, 2006 at his
residence.
Born in Pemberton, WV
October 28, 1924, he was the son of Eddie Lee and Macie Cook George, who
preceded him in death.
Mr. George was a member
of the First Baptist Church of Bluefield, WV and the Bluefield-Mercer Lodge #85
A.F.& A.M. He was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter #66. He
served in the United States Navy during World War II, and was a 40-year employee
of the Norfolk and Western Railway, serving as a fireman and an engineer.
In addition to his parents, Mr. George was preceded in death by three sisters,
Joyce (who died in infancy), Iris Conner and Elizabeth Leedy.
Survivors include his
wife of 52 years, Nancy Mays George of the home; one son, Bobby Frank George of
the home; two sisters, Geraldine Elswick of Bluefield, WV and Roberta Elliott of
Bluefield, VA; and special friends, the Walter Price family, especially Anthony,
Amy and Brenda.
Graveside services
will be conducted on Monday May 8th at Grandview Memory Gardens
Mausoleum, Bluefield, VA at 11:00 AM with Dr. Ed Fisher officiating. Those
attending the services are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m.
The family will
receive friends Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
