Linwood, NC - Edward W. Arnold, 49, of Linwood, NC, beloved son of Pat Nestor Arnold of Bluefield, WV and the late Clifford “Bud” Arnold, died Sunday March 25, 2007 of a motorcycle collision in Linwood, NC.

      Born February 11, 1958 in Bluefield, WV, Ed was a graduate of Bluefield High School and was a part of the 1975 Championship Team. He was a former member of the Bluefield Fire Department, a Salesman for Andy Clark Ford, Abbs Valley Electric, Pemco, and M&J Motor Repairs. At the time of his death he was working for Pinnacle Promotions as a Sales Manager. Ed was a former member of Edgemont Baptist Church, but had moved his membership to Balfuor Baptist Church of Ashboro, NC.

      In addition to his father; he was preceded in death by his, maternal grandparents, Victor C.  and Sarah Nester as well as his paternal grandparents Clifford Sr. and Edith Arnold.

      Survivors include; his mother, Pat Arnold of Bluefield, WV, four children, Christopher Arnold of Johnson City, TN, Chad Arnold and Leslie Arnold both of Bluefield, VA, Savannah Arnold of Linwood, NC two brothers, Clifford Arnold and wife Lisa of Walnut Cove, NC and Stephen Arnold of Mooresville, NC, uncles Don E. Arnold and wife Lavon of Bluefield, VA, Phillip Edward Arnold and wife Janet of Bluefield, WV, aunts Lena Nester Walls of Cape Coral, FL, Yvonne Peery and husband Marshall of Raleigh, NC, Karen Massey of Wytheville, VA, Sharon Helms of Washington, PA, nephews; Kevin and wife Mandy, Keith and wife Kelley of Parris Is, SC, and  Cynthia  Blevins and husband Arthur of Bluefield, WV.

      Funeral services for Mr. Arnold will be conducted Thursday March 29, 2007 at 2:00 PM from the Mercer Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ken Owens officiating. Burial will follow from the Roselawn Memorial Gardens located in Princeton, WV.

Serving as pallbearers will be friends of the family.

      Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday March 28, 2007 from 6:00 PM until 8:30 PM.
