Bluefield, WV-Elsie
W. Harris, 71, of 670 West Cumberland Rd., Bluefield, died Thursday, April 20,
2006 in a Bluefield hospital.
Born Sept. 14, 1934 in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow
(Woody) Wolfe and Pearl Gibson Grubb. She was a life-long resident of the
Bluefield area. She was a former employee of North American Rockwell, Princeton
and was an Administrative Assistant at Humana St. Luke Hospital with 28 years of
service. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles
(Spunky) Grubb.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil Harris of Bluefield; son, Clyde (Buster)
Harris and wife Patricia of Palm Harbor, FL; daughter, Sandra Plyler and husband
Buck of Pineville, NC.; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the Mercer
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Roberts officiating. Burial will
follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.
The Harris family will receive friends Sunday April 23, 2006 from 6-9 p.m. at
the funeral home.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
