Bluefield, WV-
Nathan Samuel Goforth departed this life to gain an eternal one with his
heavenly father on Friday April 14, 2006, passing away at his home. He
exemplified the love of the Lord throughout his life in all he said and did.
He was born on December
24, 1983 in Bluefield, WV. He attended Memorial Elementary and Bluefield High
School, graduating in 2002 eleventh in his class. He was a member of the
National Honor Society and BHS Bible Club, and was named 2002 Prom King. He
received the 2002 President’s Achievement Award for Bluefield High School. He
also volunteered at the Union Mission. He developed a love and gift for drawing
and painting and was honored by Make-a-Wish Foundation, winning their Christmas
Card Contest in 2002. He was employed by Mercer County Opportunity Workshop.
He was dearly loved by all who knew him.
He was preceded in
death by his maternal grandfather, James R. Judge of Princeton, WV and his
paternal grandmother Betty Jo Goforth, of Bluefield, WV, as well as his cousin,
Tiffany Goforth, of Dallas, TX.
He is survived by his
loving parents, Harold Jr. and Deborah Judge Goforth of the home; sisters,
Meredith Lindsey Goforth of New York, NY, Paige Rebekah Goforth and Rachel
Victoria Goforth of the home; maternal grandmother, Gwen Judge of Princeton;
paternal grandfather, Harold Goforth of Bluefield, WV; uncles and aunts, Jim and
Lori Goforth of Inwood, WV, Anita Payne of Austin, TX, Dr. James R. Judge and
wife Cindy of Wayne, IL and Kenneth Judge of Las Vegas, NV. Surviving cousins
are Joshua and Nicholas Goforth of Inwood, WV, Taylor and Alexis Payne of
Austin, TX, Emily and Chris Kates of Denver, CO, Katie and Lars Stromberg of
Chicago, IL, Jennifer Judge of Wayne, IL and Kenneth C. Judge, Jamie Lynn Judge
and Danielle Judge of Las Vegas, NV.
Memorial services will
be conducted on Monday, April 17th at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Howard
Finkel officiating at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The family will receive
friends at the church fellowship hall beginning at 12 noon prior to the service.
Honorary pallbearers
will be Dr. David Harris, Douglas Bourne, James Brown, Steve Williams, Bill
Harris, Cameron Harris and Douglas Tinder.
