Ruth E. Gibson, 84 of 1600 Bland Street, Blufield, WV went to be with the Lord
Wednesday September 20, 2006.
Born January 24, 1922 in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charlie
Ferguson and Eula Edna Crotty Ferguson. She was a cook at The Brier Restaurant
and was a member of Cumberland Road Church of God.
In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin A.
Gibson, two brothers, Walter Ivy Ferguson and Charles William Ferguson; and two
sons, Billy D. Gibson and Larry Gibson; and one grandson, Gregory Gibson.
Survivors include one son, Randy Gibson and his wife Terry Lynn of Bastian, VA;
one brother, James Richard Ferguson of Bluefield, WV; four sisters, Eulalia
Frances Ferguson Harmon of Charleston, WV, Margaret Collins of Cedar Bluff, VA,
Edith Glisson of Bartow, FL and June McKee of Cedar Bluff, VA; two
grandchildren, Lisa Gibson Angove of Valdosta, GA and Terri Fenwick and her
husband Charles of SC; two great grand children Alex and Ben Fenwick of SC; and
one daughter-in-law, Judy H. Gibson of SC.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday September 22, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. in the
Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Scott officiating. Burial will be
private.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral
home.
