Bluefield, WV- Raymond Bridal Ericksen, 88, of Walters Avenue, died Thursday November 30, 2006.  Born October 30, 1918 in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Peder and Alexandra Mork Ericksen. 

     Mr. Ericsen was retired from Western Electric Co.  He was also a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Virginia, son Chris, brother Leif, sister Edith, and long time companion Barbara Nilssen.  Mr. Ericksen was the last surviving member of his immediate family.  Prior to his illness, he was able to live independently in his own home, thanks to the help of his neighbors and friends, Norma Belcher and Chester Bratton.

     He had resided in Bluefield-moving here from Chicago-for the past 21 years.       Mr. Ericksen was confirmed Lutheran. 

     Graveside services will be conducted at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, VA on December 4, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Allen Hammond officiating.
