Bluefield, WV- Dan Parrish, 79, of 1712 Ferndell Avenue, Bluefield, WV, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Friday May 25, 2007 in a Bluefield Hospital with his family by his side.

   Born on April 15, 1928 at Pageton, WV he was a son of the late Joshua P. and Alzenia Calloway Parrish, he was the youngest of ten children, all of whom preceded him in death.

   He was a graduate of West Virginia Business College and a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. The majority of his working career was spent at Bluefield College where he was Business Manager from 1961-1994. For those 33 years, he devoted his life to the college and the students that it served. He was an active member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Bluefield.

   Left to cherish his memory, his wife of 55 years, Thelma L. Parrish; a daughter, Judy Woodward and husband Tim of Bluefield; two granddaughters, Courtnee Bishop and husband Jason of Roanoke, VA, and Kara Woodward of Bluefield.

   A celebration of life will be held Tuesday May 28, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery located in Princeton.

    Friends may call at the funeral home Monday May 27, 2007 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Serving as pallbearers will be; David Bradshaw, Tim Havens, Ron Linkous, Sam Scruggs, Abel Solademi, and Ron Townley.
