Born March 4, 1921 in Bluefield, WV she was a daughter of the late Fred D. and Lena Crouch Mattox. Mrs. Eaton was a member of the First Christian Church and most recently attended Memorial Baptist Church of Bluefield, VA with her daughter.

   In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Jennings E. “Tex” Eaton, and three brothers; Virgil, Bobby, and Don Mattox, Mrs. Eaton was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

   Survivors include; a daughter; Susie Furrow and husband Edwin A. Furrow, Sr. of Bluefield, VA, three grandchildren; Edwin A. Furrow, Jr. of Bluefield, David Tyler Furrow and wife Monica of Wytheville, VA, Dietra Monte of Bluefield, six great-grandchildren; Kyle Todd Furrow, Cody Aaron Furrow, Hunter Allen Furrow, Cameron Joseph Furrow, Miranda Katelyn Montgomery, and Kelsey Danielle Montgomery, a granddaughter-in-law; Victoria Lea Furrow, and several nieces and nephews.

   Funeral services for Mrs. Eaton will be conducted Thursday June 7, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hugh Cole officiating. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery  in Princeton, WV. Serving the family as pallbearers will be friends and family.

   The family will receive friends Wednesday June 6, 2007 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Mercer Funeral Home.

   The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorial contributions, if desired, be made to: The American Cancer Society, 1808 Jefferson St., Bluefield, WV 24701.
