Tazewell, VA – Corine Edith Galbraith 88 of 303 Pisgah Road Tazewell, VA and formerly of Bluefield died Thursday July 5, 2007 at the home of her daughter.

    Born October 1, 1918 in Castlewood, VA she was a daughter of the late James Henry Meade and Ellen Hurd Meade. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Bluefield and the Joan Carter Circle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband William Okey Brooks and her second husband Robert Angus Galbraith, Sr., 2 sons; Robert Angus Galbraith, Jr. and James M. Brooks, 5 sisters and 5 brothers.

    She is survived by 2 daughters; Libby Safewright, with whom she made her home, of Tazewell, VA and Carol Covey and her husband Charlie of The Villages, FL, her grandchildren; James Brooks and his wife Kari of Rapid City, SD, Debra K. Busch and her husband Pete of Angola, NY, Joe Cline and his wife Carla of Tazewell, VA, T. J. Safewright King and her husband Dwayne of Tazewell, VA, Robin Allison and her husband Gerald of Tazewell, VA, Margie Gie Bartlett and her husband Darren of South Hill, VA, Barbara Blake and her husband Danny of Athens, WV, Chad Covey and his wife Stephanie of Fishers, IN, Cary Covey and his wife Meredith of Lexington, KY, Andrew Galbraith of Punta Gorda, FL, Kara Galbraith of Charlestown, WV, Billy Yates of Tazewell, VA, step grandson Zack Baker of Tazewell, VA, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and nieces Ann Morris and Patricia Stallard and her husband Howard all of Bluefield.

    Memorial services will be conducted Sunday July 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Mercer Funeral Home & Crematory of Bluefield with Rev. Ed Fisher officiating. Inurnment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Bluewell.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church Missions Program 1325 Augusta Street, Bluefield, WV 24701.
