Bastian, VA- Fred K. Witt,
86, of 4196 Grapefield Road, Bastian, VA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday
July 19, 2006 at his home.
Born October 13, 1919 in
Bluefield, VA, he was son of the late Roland and Cora V. Starling Witt.
Mr. Witt was a member of
the Bluefield Gospel Hall and was a self-employed in heating, plumbing and
electrical work.
In addition to his
parents he was preceded in death by ; his first wife, Gladys L. Witt, a son;
Kenneth Wayne Witt, two brothers, Franklin and Roy Witt, and a sister, Marie
Witt.
Survivors include; his
wife, Lara G. “Becky” Witt, a daughter Phyllis Humphreys and husband George of
Abingdon, VA, three grandchildren; Michael Witt and wife Pam of Bristol, TN,
Mark Humphreys and wife Jill of Mechanicsville, VA and Greg Humphreys of
Abingdon, VA, and four great-grandchildren; Chase Witt, Casey Witt, Hailey
Humphreys, and Jackson Humphreys.
Funeral services will be
conducted from the Mercer funeral Home Chapel Saturday July 22, 2006 at 11:00
A.M. with the Brethrens Will Bassett and Bob Costen officiating. Burial will
follow from the Grandview Memory Gardens Cemetery located in Bluefield, VA.
Serving the family as
pallbearers will be; Michael Witt, Chase Witt, Casey Witt, Mark Humphreys, and
Greg Humphreys.
The family will receive
friends at the funeral home Friday July 21, 2006 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
