Princeton,
WV – Lois Irene
Ruble Underwood 98 of Cassell’s Board and Care Center, Princeton and formerly of
Dearborn Avenue Bluefield died Monday December 11, 2006 at the Cassell’s
Boarding Care Center.
Born December 31, 1907
in Tazewell County, VA she was a daughter of the late Henry Ruble and Johanna
Elizabeth Bailey Ruble. Lois was the last member of her immediate family. She
was a charter member of First Christian Church of Bluefield and was a member of
the Lois Russell Guild, the Golden Age Club and had formerly been employed by
Lyn-Dell’s Fashions. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
her husband Okey Underwood, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
She is survived by her
daughter Beverly Browning and her husband E.C. of Bluefield, grandchildren
Ginger Howard and her husband Jack, Scott Browning and his wife Pam, and Stephen
Browning and his wife Brenda, all of Bluefield, and great grandchildren Jill and
Ethan Howard, Chase, Heath and Whitney Browning, Hunter, Kelsi, and Alex
Browning, also of Bluefield.
Funeral services will be
conducted Thursday December 14, 2006 at 11:00 am at Mercer Funeral Home and
Crematory with Rev. Raymond Amos officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview
Memory Gardens Cemetery, Bluefield, VA where her grandchildren will serve as
pallbearers.
The family will receive
friends Wednesday evening December 13, 2006 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral
home.
