Bluefield- John Eugene Gray, 89, of Mercer Continous Care, Bluefield, WV, died Monday April 9, 2007 at a Bluefield hospital.

   Born October 6, 1917 in Bluefield, WV he was a son of the late John Albert and Eva Flora Hoback Gray. Mr. Gray was a devoted member of Grace United Methodist Church where he was a Sunday School Teacher, Lay leader, and on the Administrative Board. He was formerly employed as a salesman for Bluefield Furniture, Chicago House, and Helm’s Furniture stores. Mr. Gray was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during WW II. Mr. Gray was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

   In addition to his parents Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his wife; Helen Louise Gray.

   Survivors include five nieces; Deborah and husband Steve Misak, M.D. of Bluefield, WV, Sue and husband Ben Young of Bandy, VA, Becky and husband John McCloud of Tannersville, VA, Jane Ann and husband Larry Cook of Sacramento, CA, Beth Ashley of Seattle, WA, and a cousin Donna Lee Rupe.

   Graveside services for Mr. Gray will be conducted Wednesday April 11, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Monte Vista Park Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Doreen Adkins officiating.
