Bluefield, WV-
Curtis Howard “Catfish” Kinder, Sr., 85, of 729 Wheeling Avenue, Bluefield, WV,
died Friday October 20, 2006 in a Bluefield hospital.
Born September 15,
1921 in Jewell Ridge, VA, he was a son of the late Grover and Helen Peery
kinder. Mr. Kinder was a lifetime resident of Bluefield. He was an avid “CB”er
and fisherman, and was a general laborer with Corte Construction.
In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline B. Kinder; one brother,
Everett Kinder; one sister, Marge Kinder; brother-in-law, Anthony Battaglino;
and sisters-in-law, Theresa Rorre and Marge Pantone.
Survivors include one
son Curtis H. Kinder, Jr. and his wife Cathy of Bluefield; one brother-in-law,
Dr. John Battaglino of Wheeling, WV; sisters-in-law, Carmella Battaglino and
Virginia Battaglino both of Wheeling; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will
be conducted Friday , October 27, 2006 at 2 P.M. in the Mercer Funeral Home
Chapel with Pastor Lacy Brooks and Rev. Mr. Don Hammond officiating. Burial
will follow at Monte Vista Park Cemetery.
The family will receive
friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October26 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers
will be Seth Mullins, C.C. Brooks, Michael Brooks, and Charlie Rorrer.
Friends are invited to
meet at Sacred Heart Catholic Church after the burial.
