Bluefield, WV-
George Clifford Hagy, 80, of Route 2, Box 383 D, Bluefield, WV, died Tuesday
October 10, 2006 in a Bluefield hospital.
Born October 13, 1925 in
Tazewell, VA, he was the son of the late Joseph Hagy and Sarah Gillespie Hagy.
Mr. Hagy was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, having served in 19 invasions during
World War II. He was a retired inspector with Norfolk and Western Railroad and
was a member of Willowbrook Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents,
he was preceded in death by a wife Essie Mae Hagy; sisters, Ruth, Grace, Sally,
Janice and Thelma; and brothers, Jim and Joe.
Survivors include his wife,
Helen Heldreth Hagy of the home; two sons, George Douglas Hagy and his wife
Coleen of Virginia Beach, VA and Jerry Daniel Hagy and his wife Marities of
Reno, NV; two brothers, Jefferson Hagy and his wife Nanola of Tazewell County,
VA, Richard Hagy of Pine Town, NC; two sisters, Louise Souder of Sophia, WV and
Edith Scone of Mt. Airy, MD; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be
conducted on Saturday October 14, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mercer Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Emory Marchant officiating. Burial will follow at Monte Vista
Park Cemetery, Green Valley.
The family will receive
friends at the funeral home on Friday October 13, 2006 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m.
