Aristides “Arthur” Theofanis
Rantis, 76, of Manassas, VA died Wednesday October 4, 2006.
Born October 29, 1929 in
Vraha, Evrytania, Greece he was a son of the late Theofanis “Harry” and Polyxeni
Karahalios Rantis. Mr. Rantis was a member of the St. Catherine’s Greek Orthodox
Church in Falls Church, VA and was formerly employed as a cook.
Survivors include; a
sister, Rosalie Anastasopoulos of Volos, Greece, three brothers; George Rantis
of Vraha, Greece, James Rantis of Huntington, WV, and Demosthenes Rantis of
Springfield, VA, nephews; Tom Rantis of Clifton, VA, and John Anastasopoulos of
Volos, Greece, nieces; Polly Anne Kelting of Saranac Lake, NY, and Paraskezi
Kehayias of Volos, Greece; and several cousins.
Funeral services will
be conducted Monday October 9, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. from the St. Mary’s Orthodox
Christian Church with the Father Mark Tyson officiating. Burial will follow at
the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery located in Bluewell.
The family will receive
friends at the funeral home Sunday October 8, 2006 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00
P.M. Wake services will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. by Father Mark Tyson. Serving
the family as pallbearers will be friends and family.
In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions if desired, may be made to St. Mary’s Orthodox Christian
Church, Rt. 2 box 677, Bluefield, WV 24701.
