Bluefield, VA- Mary Virginia Stowers Neel, 83, of 131 Rollins St., Bluefield, VA, died Friday August 5, 2005 in a Bluefield hospital.

   Born November 20, 1921 in Bland county Virginia she was a daughter of the late Author and Cora Fox Stowers. Mrs. Neel was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bluefield Virginia where she was also a member of the Friendship Club and the R.S.V.P. Club at the church. She was also a member of the Pocahontas Senior Citizens and the Appalachian Agency.

   In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, John Vance Neel, Jr. and a sister, Thelma Stowers Neel.

   Survivors include; two daughters, Judy Musick and husband Tim of Bluefield, VA and Carol Lanter and husband Eddie also of Bluefield, VA; four grandchildren, Genny Rose, Lisa Rose, Tim Vance Musick, and Cyndi Neal, and a great-grandchild, Tanner Austin Rose.

   Funeral Services for Mrs. Neel will be conducted Monday August 8, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Amos officiating. Burial  will follow from the Grandview Memory Gardens Cemetery located in Bluefield, VA. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Tim Vance Musick, Brian Rose, Eddie Neel, Ray Durham, John Mattox, and Harold Lanter.

   Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday August 7, 2005 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
