Bluefield-
Clara Rolen Hudgins, 81, of 1509 Highland Ave.,
Bluefield, WV, passed away Saturday August 20, 2005 after a brief illness.
Born February 17, 1924 in Kentucky; she was a daughter of the late Walter and
Victoria Williams Riley.
She was formerly employed at the Tastee Freez Restaurant, Dairy Queen, and
Pittsburgh Plate Glass of Bluefield. Clara was also member of the Calvary
Baptist Church where she was baptized.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Don Rolen,
a son Walter Lee Rolen, two brothers; Buddy and Jack Riley, a sister; Nora
Billips, and a son-in-law; Bob Cunningham.
Survivors include; a son Rick Rolen and wife Kathy of Bluefield, WV, two
daughters; Bonnie Cunningham of Gap Mills, VA, and Donna Mae Rolen Taylor of
Bluefield, WV, a brother; Bill Riley of Columbus, OH, four grandchildren; Kevin
and Kimberly Rolen of Bluefield, WV, Michael and Vicky Butt of Gap Mills, VA,
three great-grandchildren; Megan Whited, Jessica Pearson, Matthew Kevin Rolen,
and a very special friend; Richard “Flop” Tibbs of Bluefield, WV.
The family will receive friends at the home of Rick and Kathy Rolen, 114 Willow
Street, Bluefield, WV 24701.
A private memorial service in honor of our mother and grandmother, Clara, with
family, is planned for a later date with the Pastor Curtis Honaker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions if desired, may be made to your
favorite charity.
