McKinley Dillon, 67, of P.O. Box 394(Ada Road) Bluefield, died Saturday,
March11, 2006 in a Bluefield hospital
He was born Oct. 26,
1938 in Mercer county, and was a son of Goldie Mae Burchett Dillon of Bluefield
and the late Dewey Dillon. He was formerly employed at the Ada Waste
Treatment Plant and was the former owner of the Mercer Street Shell Station.
He attended Ada Chapel
and Community Baptist Church and was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to his
father, he was preceded in death by two sons, Carl McKinley Dillon, Jr. and Carl
Mathena, one brother, Thomas Dillon and one sister, Linda Proffitt.
In addition to his
mother, he is survived by his wife Elizabeth Bailey Dillon; three daughters,
Debbie Gregg and husband Melvin of Speedway, WV; Lisa Johnson and husband Danny
of Green Valley, WV; Sherry Cook and husband Fred of Bluefield, VA, one
step-daughter, Sheila Roland and husband Barry of Princeton, WV, one son, Dewey
Sampson Dillon of Bluefield, WV, one brother, Donald Dillon and wife June of
Bluefield ,WV; two sisters, Jane Pokorney and husband Richard of Bluefield, WV;
Mary Christian of Stafford, VA, twelve grandchildren, Scott Gregg, Dustin Gregg,
Crystal Gregg, Heather Johnson, Danny Ray Johnson, Jr., Brent Cook, Hunter Cook,
Dylan Cook, Halle` Cook, Brook Dillon, Carlena Mathena and Shera Mathena Dunn,
three step-grandchildren, Marsha Todd, Adam Roland, Brandon Roland; six great
grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Dillon of Princeton,WV.
Funeral services will
be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2006 from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel
with Pastor David Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Family
Cemetery at Peggy Branch Road. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.
Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at the Mercer Funeral Home, Bluefield.
Serving the family as
pallbearers will be Dusty Gregg, Danny Ray Johnson, Jr., Brent Cook, Brandon
Roland, Hunter Cook, Dylan Cook, Obie Parish and Tommy Addison.
