Buefield-
Sidney W. Hayes, 67, of Rt. 2 Box 128, Bluefield, WV, died Tuesday January 17,
2006 in a Bluefield hospital.
Born February 15, 1938
in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Houston H. and Ethel Jumper Hayes. Mr.
Hayes was a lifelong devoted member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Bluefield
and a loving husband and father who loved to cook. Mr. Hayes was a proud veteran
of the U.S. Army having served as a Sergeant and was retired from the N&W
Railroad.
In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by; two brothers, D. Eugene Hayes, Henry H.
Hayes, and a sister; Winnie Kitts.
Survivors include;
his wonderful wife of 40 years, Linda Pruett Hayes, two
sons, Keith D. Hayes and wife Carolyn of Bluefield, WV, Brooks D, Hayes and
Fiancé Liz of Raleigh, NC, a daughter; Kelly Hayes Osborne and husband Bill of
Youngsville, NC, a brother; Grant D. Hayes of Bluefield, WV, two sisters;
Margaret Litz of Norfolk, VA, Nancy Jensen of Binghamton, NY, four
grandchildren; Evan R. and Cole A. Hayes both of Bluefield, WV and Sydney Love
and William L. “Jack” Osborne IV both of Youngsville, NC, a brother-in-law;
James L. Kitts and many nieces and nephews who he loved very much.
Funeral services for Mr.
Hayes will be conducted from the Immanuel Lutheran Church Thursday January 19,
2006 at 2 P.M. with the Pastor Meredith Williams officiating. Internment will
follow from the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery located in Princeton. Friends
and family will serve as Pallbearers.
The family will receive
friends at the Immanuel Lutheran Church one hour prior to services.
