Bluefield, WV-
Kathleen F. Mitchell,
84, of Bluefield went home to be with her Lord on Saturday January 14, 2006 at
the home of her daughter.
She was born
February 10, 1921 in Dott, WV to the late Zachariah L. and Eula A. Ferguson.
Mrs. Mitchell was a homemaker, a dedicated wife and mother, and a loyal friend
with a heart of gold. She was a member of the Thompson Chapel United Methodist
Church and First Christian Church of Bluefield.
In addition to her
parents, Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome W. “Jake”
Mitchell; a brother, Raymond Ferguson and a grandson, Matthew Brian King.
Mrs. Mitchell leaves
behind to miss and remember her, a son, Jerome W. “Jerry” Mitchell and his wife
Ruth of Big Stone Gap, VA; three daughters, Linda King and her husband James of
Rural Retreat, VA, Betty Jones and her husband Stan of Conway, SC and Debbie
Pedigo and her husband Danny of Bluefield; a sister, Hazel Warren of Bluefield;
two granddaughters, Kim King of Wytheville, VA and Leslie Ford and husband
Darrell of Duffield, VA; seven grandsons, Jim Jon King, Randy King and wife
Karen of Rural Retreat, Rick Heldreth and wife Kellie of Conway, SC, Todd
Heldreth of Conway, SC, Jeremy Mitchell of Big Stone Gap, Joey Pedigo and his
wife Ashleah of Princeton, and Brian Pedigo of Bluefield; eleven great
grandchildren, Kayla, Mandi, Heather, Jessica and Allison King, Kayla, Brittani
and B.J. Pedigo, Andrew Stafford, Hannah Taylor, and Hunter Ford; special friend
and neighbor, Roxie Bailey.
A celebration of her
life will be held at 11 AM Monday January 16, 2006 at the Mercer Funeral Home
with The Reverend A. W. Skeens officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn
Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive
friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6-8 PM.
