The Woodlands, TX –
Oreda Neel Kaylor, 85, 1 Eden Elm Place, The Woodlands, Texas and formerly of
Shady Ave., Bluefield died Tuesday, February 14, 2006 in The Woodlands, Texas.
Born May 15, 1920 in Big Stone Gap, VA. She was the daughter of the late David
Elgin Neel and Mollie Hale Neel of Bluefield.
She was an active member
of Trinity United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years
and where her wedding to Owen Kaylor was the first wedding conducted at Trinity
Methodist Church. She was a member of The Daughters of American Revolution, and
was a graduate of Beaver High School and Bluefield College.
She is survived by three
sons, David O. Kaylor and wife Karen of York, SC., Lewis H. Kaylor and wife
Marie of Tucker, Ga., Charles W. Kaylor and wife Margaret of The Woodlands,
Texas. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Katharine K. Slayden of
Blythewood, SC., Kimberly K. Wollman of Irmo, SC., Karoline K. Williamson of
Greenville, SC., Joshua H. Kaylor of The Woodlands, Texas and Sarah E. Kaylor of
The Woodlands, Texas and three great- grand children, Evan and Elizabeth Wollman
both of Irmo, SC., and Jack Slayden of Columbia, SC.
Funeral services will be
conducted Saturday February 18th at 11:00 A.M. Trinity United Methodist Church
with Dr. Charles Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Maple Hill
Cemetery in Bluefield, VA. Pallbearers will be Joe Bourne, Bob Yost, Mike
Patton, Bill Carper, Jeff Eggleston and Dave Shields. Honorary pallbearers will
be Jim Nelson, Jimmy Hill, Paul Thurmer, Bill Bourne, John Stacy and Harry Cash.
The family will receive friends Friday February 17, 2006 at Mercer Funeral Home
& Crematory of Bluefield from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Memorial contributions if
desired, may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 401 College Ave.,
Bluefield, WV 24701.
